With only 1,221 ballots – 55% voter turnout, the proposal to restrict short term rentals has failed. We had 879 YES votes, 72% of the ballots but only 40% of the community.
Good news is The Summit received 74 ballots – 85% voter turnout with 59 YES votes, 68% of the community.
The Summit will be filing the short term rental restriction in Ellis County in 2Q2024.
Thank you for the many people that voted, but with 45% of the community not voting, we were not able to pass this initiative for all of Lake Ridge.
